High Point High School Jazz Ensemble
1979. Willy (left) and Brian James.
-
Highway Star. This
was the first "real" band I giged with. This was a top 40 agency
band that played mostly proms, weddings and the like on weekends. Thom
Ray is pictured on guitar (Pic May 17,1980)
-
Here I am playing with the Cocknees
at the Button in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (Pic February, 1981)
-

Here we are playing a gig somewhere in Vermont. Charlie Miller on
trumpet. Pic October, 1981). Here we are
playing at Johnathon Swifts in Boston, MA in September of 1981.
-
Johnny Bombay and the Reactions.
This is a group picture of this original rock band which played all the
major venues in the Washington D.C. area. (Pic cir. 1983). Playing
the Upstairs 704 in Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia (Lee Rosenbloom
on guitar). Playing the Wax Museum
in Washington D.C. on April 27, 1983. Another

1 is from a gig at American University on 12/9/1983. Smash on

occasion we would do shows with another popular D.J. from DC 101, Doug
"The Greaseman" Tract. Here is a pic
from one such show at the Bayou in Georgetown on 4/26/1984. This
pic is from a pool party we played on July 15, 1984.

Here I am sitting in with Warner Bros. recording artist Rootboy
Slim at the 8x10 in Baltimore, MD (cir 1985) This shot shows
Slim, Ron Holloway, and myself. Here's
one from the balcony.
-
Here I am Wood shedding with The
Buffalo (cir 1985). The Buffalo was one of the original members
of a group of Maryland musicians collectively known as The
Buffaloes.
-
The Factory was an awesome
original rock and roll group from the D.C. area in the mid 1980s.
We played rock that was about as hard as one could imagine a band featuring
a sax could possible be. Our song "Girl that I want" was the number
1 cut on 98 Rock's compilation album from 1985. Here we are playing
the Bayou in Georgetown on 1/9/1986. Here's a close
up shot of me. Here's a picture of us playing
a BMI showcase at the Bayou. Here I am chill'n
in the dressing room of the old 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. (cir.
1988)
